Symphony Orchestra
The symphony orchestra is filed with the city on June 28, 1996 in the auditorium "Margarita Xirgu" where, at the request of Hon. Ayuntamiento de Alcalá de Henares, adopted its current name "Orquesta Ciudad de Alcalá".

 

Since then the increasing motivation of young musicians, together with the efforts of its current director and founder, who has supervised the growth and consolidation of it, along with the teachers and support staff of the Cultural Foundation Philharmonic "Orquesta Ciudad de Alcalá "have allowed the orchestra has about seventy musicians, has given more than a hundred concerts in Alcalá and in different parts of Spanish territory, and has conducted exchanges with other artistic and cultural Spanish and foreign ensembles: Mannheim-Heidelberg (Germany, 1998-2008), Bordeaux (France, 2000), Talence-Bordeaux and Paris (France, 2005), Varna (Bulgaria 2003), New York (USA 2004), Porto (Portugal, 2005), resulting in all instances of unanimous critical success and audience.
Orquesta Sinfónica

The orchestra offered in the town of Alcala de Henares a regular program of actions that are specified as:

  • Concert "Festival Alcine", November.
  • "Christmas Concert", December.
  • "Spring Concert", in the commemoration of April 23, the day of Cervantes.
  • Concert "Festival Clásicos en Alcalá", June.

On December 30, 2005 is presented in the National Music Auditorium in the extraordinary closing gala of the fourth centenary celebrations.

It also has a chamber orchestra which develops an annual training program aimed at school concerts in collaboration with the Department of Education Hon. Alcala de Henares City Council and Caja Madrid. It has also been the first musical group of Alcala who has acted in the recently opened Comedy Corral de Alcalá, or participating in the "Festival of Sacred Music Zaragoza."

Since October 2004, also has a children's orchestra consists of more than 40 children aged between 5 and 10 years, some of whom joined the children's choir who participated in the interpretation of "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff in the Festival of Classics in Alcala 2007.
